Publisher's Synopsis
Double bill of British films featuring filmmaker and actor Adam Deacon. 'Anuvahood' (2011) is a comedy spoof of urban crime films. Kenneth or 'K' (Deacon) is a waster who works in a supermarket and is going nowhere in life. He quits his job to follow his dream of becoming an MC but with little money to speak of, he decides to transform himself into a drug-dealing gangster. His new life leads him to trouble, however, in the form of local bad guy Tyrone (Richie Campbell). The film features appearances by Jaime Winstone, Paul Kaye, Ashley Walters and Richard Blackwood, among others. The sci-fi thriller 'Shank' (2010) combines live action with animation and computer graphics. In a dystopian near-future London, food has replaced drugs and guns as the ultimate commodity and urban youth has been forced to the very edges of a disintegrating society. Amidst the violence and chaos, rival gangs battle it out for supremacy. Colin Salmon, Kaya Scodelario and Robbie Gee star alongside Deacon.
