ANTHOLOGIA 1991-2023
Poesie fino ai quarant'anni
Poems in seven languages / Poesie in sette lingue / Poemas en siete idiomas
This Anthologia (or ἀνθολογία, "collection of flowers" in Ancient Greek) finally brings together in a single volume all of Flavio Ferri-Benedetti's poems from the age of 8 to the age of 40, including those that had been never published before. It also includes more than thirty original drawings with which his father, painter and illustrator Silvano Ferri-Benedetti, elegantly accompanies part of the book.
This
Anthologia represents a view into the author's life through 202 poems (of which 141 are sonnets) written in Italian, English, Spanish, French, German, Catalan and Latin - in a quest to understand life, love, death, longing and hope and with a clear shift from childhood to adolescence and adulthood.
Flavio Ferri-Benedetti (Scandiano, 1983) is mostly known as a countertenor, with more than 20 years experience performing and recording, as well as a teacher of Singing and Italian Diction at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and at the Zurich University of the Arts. With an MA in Translation Studies (UJI) and a PhD in Literature (Univ. de València), he has also been active as a translator, researcher and philologist, publishing articles, books and scores.
