Publisher's Synopsis
"After all this time, Lord
You still carried me.", I said, smiling as I weep.
These and a LOT more are contained in this series of short but powerful stories in 'Another set of footprints and other dreams'.
Inspired and impelled by the timeless poem, 'Footprints'/'Footprints in the Sand', these new and formerly unpublished stories present a new, challenging, and at times Earth-shattering vistas to the poem we all loved and cherished.
The stories now go far, far beyond the beach where the Lord and His precious child left footprints as they travelled together along the path through life.
In these stories, we marvel at the workings of the Spirit, as we explore its most unexpected, bizarre, quizzical, but oftentimes satisfying manifestations of realization, transformation and salvation.
Here is a very brief toe dip into what lies within its pages.
We leave the comfort of the beach and witness a story of rage, loss and hope in A Promise to a Raven. In this unique story, we decipher an ancient symbol that was borne out of sadness yet led to one of the many visual representations of love.
One line from the story reads: "Lord, help me search my love, as You search my heart.
If I succeed in my search or not, may I still find You in the end."
Dare to read and question your own faith in a story of such hellish intensity in A Crucifixion Nightmare.
After this, you may never look at hell the same way again!
The beach is now Light-years away, as we delight in the unique way Spirit moves through seemingly benign entities in The Two Bamboo Stalks. Imagination is stretched to its limit in this one and may even ignite ideas about how to get your own perfect wedding present!
Spirit takes us to yet another dizzying twist of retribution and choice, this time in the microscopic world of The Fearful Naiad.
"Grant knew a lot of things, even when living an unfairly abbreviated life.
Can he be wise enough, too? Life is a grant."
The stories here captivate, intrigue, question and ultimately inspire you, the reader, into breaking free of the usual platitudes of faith that filled tome after tome, libraries after libraries. Faith abounds in the most unusual of circumstances and in myriad of ways, leaving us feeling like everyone else feels after a rollercoaster ride...breathless, invigorated and so eager for more!
Inspired by spirit over 34 years ago, and now seeing print for the first time, this series of stories gestated under the patience of time and love. Through those years, these stories awaited the perfect time. More dreams and images inspired and moved by spirit were steadily added in ever tender drops that has spanned years. The Stern Egyptian and The Man and the Oasis, were birthed after years of prayerful contemplation. However in the end, one feels the way Oren felt in the latter story,
"I feel I am alive.
I feel the Lord is now alive in me!".
This story book is surprisingly easy to read. (80 plus pages only!) But if the poem "Footprints/Footprints in the Sand" moved generations of Christians despite its brevity, this book hopes fervently to accomplish the same aim. Even just a tiny sliver of it. The time has finally come for the stories to see print. The time is now, for them to be finally shared.
May you be blessed by the Lord as you read the book. May His spirit touch you, as your eyes start reading its first words. May your hearts be filled with a heaven-sent satisfaction, as you reach its end.
