Publisher's Synopsis
As an elderly woman now in my twilight years, I while away my remaining days recalling my childhood. Growing up in the hills of Tuscany, life was simple. There were no telephones, no record players, just the simple joys of a country life that revolved around an incredible variety of sumptuous family meals. I was in fact prompted to write this book because of the recent events regarding my fellow countryman, Beppe Bigazzi, who revealed on his popular TV show the pleasure of eating delicious cat meat. Some thought his admission peculiar, but Anna Maria Falamagetti can assure you that this was not a revelation to this fellow Tuscanian as cat has served me quite well, thank you, through my entire life. And although I haven't as much as touched cat for years due to assisted living restrictions, Mr. Bigazzi's words set off nothing less than a culinary firestorm of memory in my brain. Now, as I have no children myself, I have decided it would be best to pass down many of these recipes, most of which exist only as crumbling sheets of brown paper, on to you, the general public.Yes, cats certainly are our pets, but I promise you that our furry feline friends also provide a delicious and flavorful meat quite unlike anything else you have ever tasted. I can only tell you that cat can be difficult to cook at first, but once you get the hang of it, I am as sure as hell that you will find these recipes as appealing as any you might come across. You will see, as many of my followers have, that a cat meat stew coupled with a fine red Tuscan wine is one of the most wondrous dining experiences a person can ever have. In addition to these time-tested recipes, I've included many valuable tips and ruminations that have served me well throughout my life. So, even though you might not be able to find the time or be able to afford an Italian vacation, but now with my book, perhaps you can experience the next best thing in one of the many dishes originating from the enchanting land of Tuscany!
