The Author's motivation for the Animoods collection is to increase awareness and decrease the stigma associated with Mental Health. While the goal is to raise awareness within all communities, the deeper-rooted intention is to alter how mental health has been viewed throughout generations amongst communities of color.

Halima's book introduces topics related to impulse control, hyperactivity, social skills, effective communication, and positive reinforcement. The layout of the book creates a space for children to learn new skills, normalize emotions and behaviors while feeling validated and understood.
