Publisher's Synopsis

The Millennial Generation finds themselves with the lowest wages -when adjusted for inflation- since the Great Depression, and with a cost of living far outside their price range. Gone is the American Dream of owning a home with a white picket fence. These days, you're lucky to get a landlord that will warn you before raising the rent. With the cost of higher education being completely out of reach without taking out large loans, most Americans can't see a way out of life as a wage slave. And yet, if you do take out loans and get a degree, this doesn't often guarantee any kind of living wage with which to pay the loans back. As a result, some of us chose to leave. There may not be jobs that pay a living wage in the USA, but skilled workers are needed all over the world. This is a book about looking back at our country from the outside. These rants were compiled in coffee shops in Europe and Asia, listening to people tell their stories and thinking about ways to make the USA reflect policies that we see working elsewhere in the world. These rants are angry. Anyone who grew up in the United States in the last few decades is angry because they can see that the deck is stacked against them. It is that anger that I hope we can use to change things, and make a better country for ourselves.
