Publisher's Synopsis

Wanda Justice (1926-2014) wrote quite a few children's books and many poems some years ago. She had a way with words. She was a humanist who loved all of life, especially the small critters, she called them. This story also includes a message about how bats help the environment through re-afforstation, bug control and pollination.

Author Wanda retired after serving as the Founding Supervisor of UBC's Endowment Lands' Berwick Child Development Centre, sponsored by the Variety Club for developmentally handicapped and autistic children,
established in 1967.

Illustrator Enid Elliot, was one of the teachers at Berwick Child Development Centre, where she and Wanda became close and dear friends. Wanda did this with everyone at Berwick. When Enid left Berwick, and moved to James Bay in Victoria. She is now a Program Leader of Early Learning & Care at Camosun College. Tey kept in close touch, Enid's delightful Illustrations are a gift to Wanda. Also illustrated by Jill andthe children from Dr. A. R. Lord Elementary School.
