Anberg family members as well as everyone in their tight knit community have magical powers. The Anbergs, however, move away from their friends, and instead choose to live with "non magicals" simply to experience life that is different from their own. They work, go to school, and live typical lives until mom Kay, dad David and son Adam are abducted in the middle of the night by unseen forces. The youngest Anberg family member, Caroline, is a high school freshman, who is now left behind, and as she frets over what she must do, the family home collapses all around her, leaving her in the middle of a forest, stripped of nearly all her magical powers, and worst of all - alone. How she fights the evil all around her, and how she learns of her imprisoned father, dying brother, and her mother, who is slowly turning into a giant lizard, unfolds in each chapter of "Anberg's Destiny."
