Publisher's Synopsis

Double bill of children's animated features directed by Don Bluth. 'Anastasia' (1998) is a retelling of the story of the Russian peasant girl who finds out that she is actually the daughter of Tsar Nicholas II. After the revolution in 1917, she is spirited away from the Bolshevik executions of her family, and taken in by a family in Siberia. Anastasia soon sets out to reclaim her royal legacy. The film features the voice talents of Meg Ryan, John Cusack, Kelsey Grammer, Christopher Lloyd and Angela Lansbury. 'Thumbelina' (1994) is based on the Hans Christian Andersen story about the thumb-sized heroine, who is separated from her one true love, the fairy Prince Cornelius. Thumbelina sets out to find him - but first she must avoid being abducted by Mrs Toad and forced to marry Mr Mole. The film features the voice talents of Carol Channing and John Hurt, and is accompanied by a score by Barry Manilow.
