The liberality, or as I ought perhaps rather to say, the kind indulgence which I haive experienced from the profession and the public at large, with regard to the new. Edition Of the late Mr. Watkins's Treatise on Copyholds, induces me to hope that the new edition which I now offer them of the same learned Author's Essay towards the further Elucidation of the Law of Descents, conducted as it has been on precisely the same plan, may meet with a similarly favourable reception.
