Publisher's Synopsis
Continuing with the story of the Shomberg family, this volume focus on the maternal side, the Bentles, Schefes, Maacks and Juliuses. The Bentles hail from Strasbourg, the Schefes, Maacks and Juliuses from Mecklenburg. They came to America in the mid 1800's, and in Wisconsin they met and married. They were dairy farmers and cheese makers. They were a close knit family living side by side in rural Wisconsin. Reading the Census, it was easy to see all the families living in the same area and caring for one another. If you are from Wisconsin you will certainly recognize some of the last names, such as Zachow, Jennerjohn, Dechow, Kaschingst, Gordon, Keep, Burr, Hoh, Pingel, Krull, Haus, Reinke and others.
