An America I Never Knew A True Story

Tamara L. Vaughn (a single mother of three children) was — and is still – a victim of things beyond her control, or awareness, that cost her to lose her savings due to serious malevolence in our Securities Regulatory System. Tamara believed that a public company, traded on a major U.S. stock exchange, could not deceive its shareholders because of strict oversight by the U.S. government's regulatory agency — the SEC. Unlike other governmental agencies responsible for consumer rights and safety, the guardian of her consumer rights in the stock market was derelict in its oversight obligations to her, and others like her. As a result, this malevolent neglect effectively ruined Tamara's life and her ability to care for her three children. Many people in her predicament might have simply given up hope and ended up on the doorsteps of our country's welfare system, but instead, she mustered her courage and energy to write An America I Never Knew.
