Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from An Adjoint Gamma-Ray Moments Computer Code, Adjmon-I
This note describes a computer code, adjmdmdi, which can be used to calculate the moments (spatial and angular) of the adjoint gamma-ray flux distribution in an infinite homogeneous medium. These moments can then be used to calculate dose distributions for monoenergetic point isotropic, plane isotropic, plane oblique, and point conical sources. The adjoint moments method is simply the application of the moments method flllto the adjoint gamma-ray transport equation. A particular feature of the adjoint formulation is that the contribution of annihilating electron pairs and fluorescent gamma-rays to the gamma-ray transport is quite simple to include. Additionally the adjoint source may have delta function angular characteristics thereby allowing the calculation of the dose angular distribution.
