Publisher's Synopsis

After 16 years of writing Poetry (exactly half of my life), this work forced itself out of the fray, as the positive embrasure of existence (as opposed to other works which deride life). The works included in this collection were produced between 2009-2014, with some standout works selected from 2001-2004. My major influences are mostly Romantic and 20th Century Continental European authors. Having lived in the United States for my entire life has brought a unique setting with which to operate my Poetic license considering that my major influences are mostly non-American writers. Finding my own voice amongst such powerful authors was a harrowing and difficult task, as they all vied for supremacy throughout my growth as individual and Poet. After countless drafts, handwritten reflections, and aphorism/poems, my own voice awoke amidst the clamor of various ages and styles. Amor Fati is a Latin phrase which translates as Love of Fate. The hardest thing to do in life is to accept one's Fate on its terms. Nietzsche used this phrase in tandem with his incomplete theory of the Eternal Recurrence, which, in short, is the theory that all things that occur not only happen once, but happen an infinite amount of times. In order to accept this ideology one has to be strong enough to acknowledge that every joy, sorrow, horror, hardship and conquest are essentially going to repeat ad infinitum.
