Mark Brodie is born with so much natural athletic talent that it borders on the super-natural. However, his father, due to a family tragedy that took the lives of his parents, does not allow the boy to participate in popular high-school sports. Only Mark's family and a few friends have witnessed the boys' fantastic, spellbinding feats. Mark keeps his secret to himself until bullies push him too far and he unleashes his powers. A chance encounter with a pro-scout and inspiration from his troubled brother, spur Mark to tryout for a minor-league soccer team. With encouragement from his wife, Mark is chosen as a reserve for the US national team to play in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. It is at the World Cup where Mark allows his magical talents to shine forth, on the world's stage. This is a story about adolescence, wrestling, baseball, soccer and father-son relationships.
