Publisher's Synopsis

""Do not be afraid; I am with you"" is God's promise to Israel (Isaiah 40:10), and the first disciples of Jesus were comforted, strengthened and encouraged by his promise to be with them (Matthew 28:20). As Christians, we believe that we are continually in Gods presence not only as spirit but also in each and every person. This living faith is centered on the God-given dignity of each person and calls us to right relationships. Such relationships bring about the justice of Gods reign. Always in God's Presence is Patrick Jurd's second book of reflections and continues to demonstrate his enthusiasm for the gospel of Jesus Christ, first seen in To Strengthen and Encourage. The series of brief reflections is written for parents, teachers, clergy and other educators who want to draw out the best in young people so that they may truly live the gospel. The themes of his reflections are inspired by the Franciscan and Lasallian charisms and cover a variety of topics - discipleship, education, prayer, formation, spirituality, integrity, life choices, building relationships - in ways that are thoughtful, caring, gentle, inspiring, and above all, concerned to remind readers that they are constantly in God's presence. Patrick Jurd was born and educated in Parramatta. He completed a Science degree at Sydney University, before moving south to marry AnneMaree Eddy. They now have two adult sons. He taught for more than twenty-five years in Lasallian schools and it was the inspiration of the Lasallian charism that led to his writing reflections. He has over thirty years' teaching experience in Melbourne Catholic schools and twenty years' experience in faith leadership. Patrick is currently the Director of Faith and Religious Education at Ave Maria College, Aberfeldie.
