Conceived as a parody of the style of song often featured in Disney films, it may be considered an 'answer song' to the entire genre, but particularly to songs such as 'Give a Little Whistle' from Pinocchio. 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life' appears at the end of the film when Brian seems certain to die!
