Publisher's Synopsis
This is the continuing story of Ray Wright, the Hevinian sleeper, quietly monitoring Earth and its progress who is thrust into the limelight when Earth is attacked by a fleet of Kaedian invaders. The Battle for Earth was won but the war is not over. The invading Kaedian armada is limping back to its home planet defeated, humiliated and seething with anger, vowing to return and destroy Earth. With the immediate threat removed, Earth's leaders must now deal with a dying planet. The only possible solution is to reduce the population by one third. Earth welcomes the Hevinian fleet complete with its massive transports and prepares to make the greatest migration known to man. Your favorite characters from the Defense Brigade and the Village come together once again. They will overcome invading forces, espionage, even murder, in their attempt to reach and establish a base on the new world, the pristine planet called Altis-5. The odds are not good.
