As every farmer in Lofoten will testify, the weather forecast this summer of 2011 has shown little resemblance to the weather we actually got.
I am not really a farmer myself, but I have been struggling a bit to get in as much hay as possible for two horses. Some days ago we decided to have a real farmer come with his tractor to cut our grass a second time this summer, as the forecast said no rain for many days. What actually came was rain, for days. I needed at least one sunny day to be able to take it in, and fast, in order to save the hay from rotting on the ground. On 27 August the rain stopped for a while, but everything felt wet and I didn't feel like taking on the job.
