Ali Banisadr: Volume Two documents all the paintings the artist has produced since 2015, and all works on paper since 2010, and together with Ali Banisadr: One Hundred and Twenty-Five Paintings (2015) forms the artist's first ever Catalogue Raisonné.This new volume features a newly-commissioned essay by art historian David Anfam, a text by the author Azareen van der Vliet Oloomi and an interview with art critic Negar Azimi.It has been published on the occasion of the exhibition, Ali Banisadr: The World Upside Down (Blain|Southern, Berlin, 29 September - 17 November 2018) featuring two comprehensive new bodies of works: 12 paintings and 12 works on paper.This new body of work demonstrates a change in direction for the artist, showing a looser, freer depiction of space in the paintings, as well as a shift in palette and tone.
