The character of Alexander was influenced by the shaggy white dog that lived next door to their home in 1981. Since 2015, Victoria Peterson Laird has also published a trilogy of adventure stories about her Golden Retrievers. Brothers Lincoln and Nicholas are the stars of the 'Retrieving Adventures!' series of children's books. Together they travel all over the world, including trips to Alaska, Africa and Australia.
