Publisher's Synopsis
A course designed for pupils following the new A- or AS-level syllabuses in Spanish which aims to answer the long-felt need among teachers for a course book based on authentic materials which applies the principles of the new methodology. The course sets out to provide an effective continuation, post-GCSE, of training in the four language skills and, at the same time, to prepare students thoroughly for the examinations.;The course is topic-based. There are 13 chapters, each of which explores different aspects of a topic, and practises the four skills by means of a variety of exercises. Topics have been chosen for their interest and relevance to the 16-19 age group.;The course is divided into three stages, which take the student from relatively straightforward material at the beginning, to more complex and challenging material at the end. Chapters 1-5 are designed both to "bridge the gap" between GCSE and A/AS levels and to develop GCSE topics using more advanced material; chapters 6-10 focus on more advanced material; chapters 11-13 are shorter, and aim both to stimulate coursework and give more specific preparation for the A- and AS-level examinations.;This is the transcript booklet which accompanies the cassette.
