Publisher's Synopsis

Aitre is an electronic world, created from downloaded memories, using radical new technology.

Arthur, after a long and successful career, is now trapped by a debilitating, illness. Jim and Jack are trapped in undeserved, long-term prison sentences. They are given the opportunity to transfer to this electronic world, and create a new life, liberated, in fit healthy bodies.

This world, Aitre, is set in medieval times, tailored to take advantage of the simplicity of a life free of grinding poverty, and illness.

The AIs, created to people this new world, have become indistinguishable from the human guests. Designed to be human in every way, they take up the roles of farmers, tradespeople, and artisans. They live, love and work alongside the human guests.

Aitre, though, is only the pilot world, it must succeed and pass its final audit to allow further worlds to exist. All is progressing well, until new partners in the project decide that the technology would be better employed elsewhere.

War and destruction are now brought to bear on this fragile world in a devastating way. All participants have to commit their lives to this world before 'lockdown', when the world is finally launched and has passed its audit.

If unsuccessful, the project will die, and the people in it will be left in a virtual wasteland.
