The purpose which leads me to send forth this simple account Of the taking Of my two children is fourfold.
First. In some respects it was a peculiar experience, and many Of my friends do not know the Circumstances, but suppose that some contagious disease removed both of my children thus, within two weeks of one another, whereas the diseases were entirely diverse and not in any way associated, unless the hidden grief of Margaret, after her brother was taken, hastened her trouble.
