1985. New Orleans, Louisiana. Paranormal Investigator Dick Draven is hired by an entertainment company to lead a rookie ghost hunting team through a famously haunted mall for a pilot episode for a potential television program titled Paranormal Mysteries. After the investigation spirals out of control Dick becomes ensnared in a rescue mission that lures him into the mystical and savage underworld of Voudou. With the help of freelance journalist Chip Landers, Dick seeks guidance from a witch doctor that specializes in the peculiar craft of reverse necromancy to navigate him into a gory and iridescent realm between heaven and hell. There is portal so mechanically attainable, so seductively reachable, no vengeful soul can resist. After the portal is wedged open Dick must find a way to close it and prevent malevolent tethers that could endanger him, his friends or worse, his children.
