Publisher's Synopsis
Ninja Steinbach-Hüther poses the question of the place of African knowledge on the book markets in France and Germany and examines the presence and reception of social science publications by African authors from the 1950s to the present. The study raises awareness of African intellectual production against the background of the debate on the marginalization of African knowledge. It supplements previous research on academic literature production by African authors with quantitative results that form the basis for further qualitative analyzes from a new perspective.
