Publisher's Synopsis
Atholia is an ancient and savage land. For centuries it has been torn by war and destruction as numerous tribes struggle for domination. After a brief period of quiet the fragile peace is shattered once more by the Vorgell a northern tribe of vicious and cruel warriors. The invaders deal out death and destruction to all who stand in their path. A young child named Aergard the son of a great Guardian Warrior is born into the heat of battle. His only hope for survival is the one they call the Pathfinder who pledges his life to take the child to the Masters of Althea where his destiny awaits. Olwydd the Pathfinder and a handful of refugees must brave the terrors of war and venture into the merciless Atholian desert to find Althea where the young Aergard is to become one of the greatest of all Guardian Warriors.
