This book is an exceptionally fun and inventive adventure story, set in the "VHS era." The author brings his own versions of classic TV shows, action figures, and cult movies to life while telling an action-packed story. The pacing is fast, and it's an electrifying read with some cool twists and turns, but it's not lacking in substance either. As someone who grew up loving B-movies and sci-fi, I really enjoyed the book, but I also think 21st-century kids will like it too.
This is a fun read with kid characters set back in the '80s, where a couple of 12-year-olds and their hot (in the eyes of the main character) older sister have to deal with the consequences of a drive-in movie creature coming to life, that may or may not be one of the 12-year-old's fault.
