This text is designed for introductory courses in nurse practitioner and advance practice programmes. It presents the roles, issues, and clinical models of advanced nursing practice. The format is organized into four sections: section one presents the background, trends and educational preparation for advanced practice nursing. Section two incorporates the changing environment of health care delivery and new models of care whilst section three addresses the accountability, economic and ethical-legal issues related to advanced nursing practice.
