This Advanced Learner's Dictioanry series is basically designed for students and teachers as well. It is the result of a careful analysis of the needs of a advanced level students and should prove an invaluable aid in their day-to-day learning. As it is extremely difficult to limit the contents of such a dictionary at 'Advaned' leel standard, many headwords are included that are above this level and that may be of interest to Advanced learners. A few headwords that are not strictly scientific are also included because of their common usage ineveryday scientific terminology. It has been our aim to provide explanations that are easily undestood, while maintaining academic standards.
