Publisher's Synopsis

Adrian was separated from her siblings at the age of four. She began her years in foster care with the Henshaws, who treated her as their own child. She had a normal happy childhood until tragedy struck the Henshaw home. Adrian then had to be placed with another family, the Kranes. Although Adrian only lived a short time with the Kranes, Mike Krane haunted Adrian throughout her childhood. She never escaped the Krane craziness. After being removed from the Krane home for tragic events, she was then placed in a temporary home until another placement could be found. This is where Adrian meets Beans, who is a respite care child. Beans brings another tragic situation to Adrian. Due to the tragedy Adrian encounters the social workers find it best to put Adrian in a foster care home where she would likely not be found. Protective orders are put into place. She is then placed with the sisters, Mary and Stella. They own a farm near a small town in Kansas. However, Stella has her own issues to contend with because of her past. Those issues spill over into the care of Adrian and could put her in danger. A decision must be made as to whether Adrian can stay with the sisters on the farm.
