Addie is an ordinary Mixling teenager - well, sort of. She has an older sister that is absolutely stunning and a twin brother that is about to discover his destiny at the Elvish Summoning Ceremony. Just when Addie feels as though she has no purpose to serve, the Elvish gods reveal SHE will be the next great leader of the Forest Elves. While her family is still in disbelief from the news, Addie's sister goes missing. Addie knows in her heart that Ciaran, a dark-magic practicing elf from the family's past (and who just broke out of Elvish Reformatory), has kidnapped Shae. Now, Addie will embark on a journey to save her sister's life - but not without a contest from Ciaran and the dark elves that serve him.
