Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Academic Algebra: For the Use of Common and High Schools and Academies; With Numerous Examples
Throughout the book are numerous examples fully worked out, to illustrate the most useful applications of important rules, and to exhibit the best methods of arranging the work. No principle is well learned by a pupil and thoroughly fixed in his mind till he can use it. For this purpose a large number of examples is given at the ends of the chapters. These examples have been selected and arranged so as to illustrate and enforce every part of the subject. Each set has been carefully graded, commencing with some which are very easy, and proceeding to others which are more difficult. Complicated examples have been excluded, because they consume time and energy which may be spent more profitably on other branches of mathematics.
