The heads of three of the six or seven Lincoln families that first settled in the town of Hingham, Mass., were brothers, and all were probably connected by blood relationship. Their fre quent inter-marriage with other distinguished families of New England, and remoter sections of the Union, has resulted in a large number of descendants, represented in all the learned pro fessions and the different branches of business life.
