The 18th-century West African Kingdom of Dahomey was a dark and foreboding place. In this cold and threatening environment, one periodically found bursts of light longing to burn bright and furious. But, as in every dark and foreboding place, there lurked an evil intently longing to pounce and extinguish each and every flicker. This wickedness lurks still today.
