Italian immigrants Vito and Cassandra come to America in search of the American dream. The first part of their dream is realized with the birth of their daughter Abbi. A very beautiful, humble, young girl who happens to be an extraordinary artist is loved by all! Death claims Cassandra. Her beloved husband and daughter are left devastated. Disaster strikes as a cocaine-fueled gang of thugs led by wanna-be big shot Rube Miles leaves Vito nearly crippled and Abbi's beautiful face horribly disfigured by a cold, steel blade and flames of fire. In the wake of their tragedy, local Sherriff James Barnes is left perplexed, especially when a rash of dead bodies begin popping up left and right. What the hell is going on in his quiet little town of Mendenhall Mississippi? Father and daughter are seperated and each presumes the other is dead. Young Abbi is left to fend for herself as she battles lonliness, fear, anger and depression. Father and daughter are reunited. Once beloved, Abbi is now shunned by all except for her father, her best friend Stella, and her neighbor Abraham. Self conscious about how half of her facial features are hideously scared, she wears a shawl to conceal her once beautiful face. However, when Abbi experiences joy, her face takes on a golden aura which disguises her battered face. Disaster strikes again, this time rendering Abbi morbidly depressed. Although she has a unique and very special relationship with Jesus Christ, will Abbi be dilivered from evil, or will the adversary have his way with her? Her pain and heartache take her to the edge of the abyss. .The question is, will she plunge herself into it's depths, or will she soar like an eagle?
