Publisher's Synopsis
The term "anti-racism" is completely arbitrary. There are many organized structures and ideological movements in the world that designate or agree to designate themselves by that name, but there is nothing that even remotely resembles a single ideology or social movement.
Antiracism is a transformative concept that reorients and reenergizes the conversation about racism- and, even more fundamentally, points us towards liberating new ways of thinking about each other and about ourselves. Racism is at its core a powerful system that creates false hierarchies of human value; its distorted logic extends beyond race, from the way we look at people of different ethnicities or colors of the skin to the way we treat people of different sexes, gender identities and types of bodies.
"Racism" in recent decades has gradually lost its connotations associated exclusively with biology and has become an unusually broad concept. In general terms, the latter means violence and discrimination on racial or ethnic grounds, as well as ideas justifying such violence and discrimination.
Accordingly, the collective name "anti-racism" is well suited to emphasize that in this context we are only talking about (in) equality on those grounds that are associated with racial and ethnic division, and not with anything else.
This book breaks down all the big ideas and relevant facts about Antiracist "so they can be understood easily and quickly. Also included is a Bonus for Analysis & Action Plan which will help you on your journey. Continue reading below to see everything you'll get.
The book teaches how to be conscious of racism (racist policy) by describing its roots and meanings clearly. Whether we've got a black body or a white one. Your purpose is to depict racism as a power system that was born centuries ago and explain the road to an anti-racist society, and how anti-racism is a better goal than non-racism.
