Xzillion Heilwyn's search for the Devorick Shards is momentarily halted, his focus placed upon the rising conflict in the south, his thoughts occupied by more immediate threats. In the meanwhile, the fate of the West teeters upon the edge of a cliff, waiting breathlessly to tumble down into the abyss. Kings and queens act without thought or regard for their people, motivated only by their thirst for power and greed. All the while, the north strengthens, with Castle Winterwillow now reclaimed and restored, eyes turn toward the city at the Edge of the World. Many seek alliances with Kyria Valistar, while others press for her hand in marriage and a share of her rule in the north. There are those, however, that question her intentions, and the potential of her enormous influence. After all, the Valistars hold incredible sway over the realm and its inhabitants. Without the actions of Kyria's grandmother, Eventyde would exist merely as fire and ash, as a pedestal for the Dragon Lords. Such things, however, cannot detract from the threat that lingers within the walls of Castle Winterwillow.
