His writing - poetry, letters, eulogies, and observations - reveals his love for his family, his friends, his work and the natural world. His joy in music and word play are evident, along with his antic sense of humor. Known for his seamanship, the mastery of his craft and his warm, generous spirit, Oscar loved to laugh and to hear others laugh. He would enjoy seeing the smiles he left in his wake.
