Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from A Vergilian Dictionary: Embracing All the Words Found in the Eclogues, Georgics, and Aeneid of Vergil With Numerous References to the Text Verifying and Illustrating the Definitions

In verbs, only the principal parts are given which are understood to be in actual use; and generally one of the numerals, 1, 2, 3, 4, designates the conjugation, and therefore the form of the infinitive.

References to the Eclogues and Georgics are indicated respectively by the let ters E. And G.; numerals without letters refer to the Aeneid.
