After moving back to Kyoto, Japan, Shaundra Morrison discovers that things have changed. But his popularity begins to slip when his fandom discovers that he's romancing the ex-girlfriend of Izanagi Kato, a member of the current kings of J-Pop, Distraction. Solid friendships begin to crumble and Satoshi finds himself on the receiving end of malicious comments and once again, a target of the yakuza. Jona Takao has never met a woman quite like Shaundra Morrison. Even though the African American female is seventeen or eighteen years older than him, Jona, at forty-five, finds himself enamored by a woman who is not only beautiful, but is rich and has a head for business. And the fact that she's not after his money, means she likes him for himself, unlike the other women he's associated with. And on New Year's Eve he plans to introduce her to the rest of his family, to include his ex-in-laws, Sora and Ken Kimura, the local yakuza boss and his wife.
