Samantha Barnes is back in her hometown on Cape Cod, working as a food writer. She has inherited her great-Aunt Ida's dilapidated house, which comes complete with an enormous puppy. Sam's new boss - and old friend - Keisha is very bossy. Her friends Jenny and Miles insist on believing Sam is home for good and the town's new harbour master is none other than her old flame, Jason. And then there's the matter of the body Sam finds, the body of the woman who tore Sam and Jason apart ten years ago, Estelle.
