It is my hope that it can 'live again'.' Prayer is sometimes described as the meeting place between man and God, or between the sacred and the secular. A Shot in the Light supplies us with the raw material in which that meeting can take place. The author is a man who read widely, and finds that what he reads often strikes a 'scriptural chord' which then takes him back to the Bible. Sometimes the biblical passage echoes exactly the spirit of the secular passage, sometimes it disagrees, sometimes a positive tension is created - but it always comes alive and leads us to a new understanding.
