Excerpt from A Sermon: Preached in St. Andrew's Church, Quebec, on the 29th May, 1861
The conduct of the Apostles before the Sanhedrim furnishes us with many important lessons, to which it would be well that we take heed, especially as ministers of the gospel of salvation. But at present I will only call your attention, and that very brie?y, to two, so intimately connected with the narrative that they can hardly be overlooked.
In the first place, the Apostles were animated with a sincere regard to the will of God.
And secondly, this principle of action was sustained by fervent prayer.
