To an object fo momentous he facrificed all that the world calls clear, his cafe, his interell, his reputa tion, and in the end life itfelfa This illuftrious child of wifdom triumphed in the midfl of perfecution he gloried that he was accounted Worthy to fufier for the caufe of Chrift; and defired to fpend and he fpent in difi'eminating that religion which is in fact, and which he firmly believed to be the power of God to falvation to every one that believeth.
