Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from A Second Letter to the Right Honourable Lord in Reply to His Lordship's Remarks on the Author's Letter on Transubstantiation
With regard to Transubstantiation, - the main object of your former doubts, this, you say, is so utterly incomprehensible, - so repugnant to the dictates of my Reason, - that I cannot, for the life of me, bring myself to believe it. For what, you add, is the use of my reason, if it be not to guide me P Was it not, for this very end, that God bestowed the invaluable gift upon me? Accordingly, I consider myself justified in follow ing the; guidance of its directions: and it is upon the score of these, that I reject that mystery.
