Publisher's Synopsis
A history of the Nail Factory Cemetery largely through short references found to it in Troy newspapers, most of them fairly trivial in nature. There's references to the Troy Common Council acquiring the cemetery and its driveway, voting for funds for replacing fences, repairing the driveway, etc. Additionally, transcriptions of entries from the Troy Burial Records have been included and in some cases transcriptions from Oakwood Cemetery's interment book for people who were reinterred there. Details of some old maps on which the cemetery appeared are included, as well as photos of headstones in the Oakwood and New Mount Ida cemeteries belonging to people originally interred in the Nail Factory Cemetery. This might be considered a public proof, a rough draft; it contains flaws and omissions. It will be expanded with more information and photos, but is made available for the few who really can't wait or who would like to provide feedback to the editor. Others would likely be best off waiting for a proper first edition.
