If the writings of Moses had not been fully and freely circulated, can we conclude that the Redeemer would have referred the Jews to the writings 'of Moses P Did he refer them to a book monopolized by the priesthood, and only very partially in the hands of the people? There are numerous passages of the same import, but' these are sufficient to prove that the prophets were fami liar to the people, and that they must therefore have been designed for general circulation. Next we come to the Gospel, which I assert was written for the instruction of all, and not a few. In John, chap. Xx. Verses 30 - 31, it is said.
