Publisher's Synopsis
Thursday Tilford finds many changes when she returns to Haslar Hospital from Egypt where she has been serving as a volunteer. Troops are waiting to leave for the Normandy beaches and Haslar is on standby to receive the wounded. Thursday's thoughts are with the two men in her life - Connor Kirkpatrick, the naval doctor from Haslar, and Mark Sangster, an army doctor she met while in Egypt. Although she longs to keep her promise to Connor, her feelings for Mark force her to think seriously about the future.
