On the eve of World War II, a divided nation faces an uncertain future. Only one American in four favors becoming involved in world affairs. Labor strikes have slowed production, and the Japanese threaten stability in the Pacific. Against this backdrop of uncertainty Reverend James Dunn must somehow offer comfort to those near to him, yet at the same time try to deal with his own personal struggles.
